Armorers Kft. was established in 2015 to provide world-class armory support to international and Hungarian film productions. The company operates a licensed gunsmith workshop for the repair of guns and any conversion required to make them compliant with the Hungarian Film and Firearms Laws for their use in film productions.
Safety is paramount to us so our Supervising Armorers are always on site to provide the advice and guidance on set to deliver a visually stunning effect, without compromising the safety of the crew and actors. Our stock spans across the whole history of firearms from early matchlock muskets to modern day assault rifles and handguns
In Hungary and many other countries, replica weapons are considered a controlled item and are subject to almost the same strict rules as the real weapons that they simulate. There are still valid security regulations when the production uses a legitimate toy weapon. Everything that looks like a weapon requires careful supervision, actors and stuntmen must be informed that they must not aim the gun at each other under any circumstances unless the scene specifically requires it. It is also paramount that they never leave the the set with the weapon used.
It is necessary to understand the strict security requirements of the weapons used on set and the unique nature of weapons. In addition, there are statutory regulations regarding the possession and supervision of weapons that apply to everyone.
Always remember – the use of weapons always reqire the unambiguous supervision of a licensed armorer. Actors and staff members need to know that if there is a weapon on set, their safety is in the hands of the armorer.
In compliance with the revelant Hungarian regulations, we provide our partners with only so called „Theatrical weapons” that comply with Hungarian law and cannot be chambered with live ammunition of the original caliber and in which a constrictor is applied to the barrel to prevent any type of projectile being fired. With such weapons we are in the position to avoid an accident unlike in the case of prop guns temporarily imported from abroad. Our airsoft replica guns are also deactivated by a licensed gunsmith in a way that they cannot expel any kind of projectile and they are certified thereto.
